Have been reading all sort of stuff but the thing that got my attention above all was how to make money using blogs. BEIJING OLYMPIC 2008

The 2008 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, are an international multi-sport event, that will be held in Beijing, People's Republic of China from August 8 to August 24, 2008, and followed by the 2008 Summer Paralympics from September 6 to September 17. 10,500 athletes are expected to compete in 302 events in 28 sports, just one event more than was on the schedule of the Athens games of 2004.^[1]

The Olympic games were awarded to Beijing after an exhaustive ballot of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on July 13, 2001. The official logo of the games, titled "Dancing Beijing," features a stylized calligraphic character jīng (京, meaning capital), referencing the host city. The mascots of Beijing 2008 are the five Fuwa, each representing both a color of the Olympic rings and a symbol of Chinese culture. The Olympic slogan, One World, One Dream, calls upon the world to unite in the Olympic spirit. Several new National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have also been recognized by the IOC.

The Chinese government has promoted the games to highlight China's emergence on the world stage.^[2]^[3] A total of 37 venues will be used to host the events including 12 newly constructed venues. Earlier in 2007, former IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch had said that he believes that the Beijing games will be "the best in Olympic history."^[4]

Beijing was elected the host city on July 13, 2001, during the 112th IOC Session in Moscow, beating Toronto, Paris, Istanbul, and Osaka. Prior to the session, five other cities (Bangkok, Cairo, Havana, Kuala Lumpur, and Seville) submitted bids to the IOC but failed to make the shortlist in 2000. After the first round of voting, Beijing held a significant lead over the other four candidates. Osaka received only six votes and was eliminated. In the second round, Beijing was supported by an absolute majority of voters, eliminating the need for subsequent rounds.^[5]

After winning the bid, Li Lanqing, the vice premier of China, declared "The winning of the 2008 Olympic bid is an example of the international recognition of China's social stability, economic progress and the healthy life of the Chinese people." Previously, Beijing had bid to host the 2000 Summer Olympics. It led the voting over the first three rounds, but ultimately lost to Sydney in the final round in 1993.

By May 2007, construction of all 31 Beijing-based Olympic Games venues had begun.^[6] The Chinese government is also investing in the renovation and construction of six venues outside Beijing as well as 59 training centers. Its largest architectural pieces will be the Beijing National Stadium, Beijing National Indoor Stadium, Beijing National Aquatics Centre, Olympic Green Convention Centre, Olympic Green, and Beijing Wukesong Culture & Sports Center. Almost 85 percent of the construction budget for the six main venues is being funded by US$2.1 billion (RMB¥17.4 billion) in corporate bids and tenders. Investments are expected from corporations seeking ownership rights after the 2008 Summer Olympics. Some venues will be owned and governed by the State General Administration of Sports, which will use them after the Olympics as facilities for all future national sports teams and events.

Some events will be held outside Beijing, namely football (in Qinhuangdao, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Tianjin), sailing (in Qingdao), and equestrian (in Hong Kong, because of "uncertainties of equine diseases and major difficulties in establishing a disease-free zone").^[7]

The Beijing National Stadium.

The centerpiece of the 2008 Summer Olympics will be the Beijing National Stadium, nicknamed the "Bird nest" because of its nest-like skeletal structure.^[8] Construction of the venue began on December 24, 2003. The Guangdong Olympic Stadium was originally planned, constructed, and completed in 2001 for the Games, but a decision was made to construct a new stadium in Beijing.^[9] Government officials engaged architects worldwide in a design competition. A Swiss firm, Herzog & de Meuron Architekten AG, collaborated with China Architecture Design & Research Group to win the competition. The stadium features a lattice-like concrete skeleton forming the stadium bowl and will have a seating capacity of 80,000 people. Architects originally described the overall design as resembling a bird nest with an immense ocular—an opening with a retractable roof over the stadium. However, in 2004, the idea of retractable roof was abandoned for economic and safety reasons. The Beijing National Stadium will be the site of the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the athletics events and soccer finals. The stadium's designer Ai Weiwei has since withdrawn his support for China's Olympic games, saying "he wants nothing to do with them anymore".^[10]^[11]

This is a map of the Olympic venues in Beijing. Several expressways encircle the center of the city, providing for quick transportation around the city and between venues.

In preparation for the huge rush during the games, Beijing's subway system underwent a major expansion which increased its capacity to more than twice its previous size. The previous system was composed of four lines and 64 stations. An additional seven lines and more than 80 new stations were constructed, including a direct link to Beijing Capital International Airport. In the airport itself, 11 unmanned trains, each transporting a maximum of 83 passengers, will expedite the movement of people throughout the new terminal building.^[12] Most of them are scheduled to operate from June 30, 2008, one month before the beginning of the games. In January 2007, the BOCOG announced that the Metro cars will be fitted with video screens showing the latest news and events during the games. Additionally, cellphone signals would be made available, so that people can use their communication devices in the metro stations or underground.^[13]

According to the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, a new five-level emergency alert system for extreme weather and security threats will be implemented in the airport. This system is designed to ensure smooth and safe transportation for the estimated three million domestic and overseas visitors who will flock to Beijing for the games in August 2008.^[14]

On the ground, Beijing is set to designate 38 official public transit routes that will link the Olympic venues. During the games, 2,500 large-size buses and 4,500 minibuses will be operated by a total of 8,000 drivers to transport people across various venues. Prior to the games, public transport will be optimized in order to reduce the existing 110 overlapping routes.^[15]

Beijing will be implementing a temporary road space rationing based on plate numbers during the Games in order to significantly improve air quality in the city.^[16] Under the traffic plan made public on June 20, 2008, the rationing will be enforced for two months, between July 20 to September 20, as the Olympics will begin on August 8, and then will be followed by the 2008 Paralympics, from September 6 until 17.^[17] The restrictions will be in placed on alternate days depending on the plates ending in odd or even numbers. This measure is expected to take 45% of the 3.3 million car fleet off the streets. In addition, 300,000 heavy polluting vehicles will be banned from July 1, and the plan also prohibits access to most vehicles coming from outside Beijing. The boosted public transport network is expected to absorb this additional demand, estimated in more than 4 million extra passengers per day.^[18]^[17]

The 2008 Summer Olympics emblem is known as "Dancing Beijing" (simplified Chinese: 舞动的北京). The emblem combines a traditional Chinese red seal and a representation of the calligraphic character jīng (京, "national capital", also the second character of Beijing's Chinese name) with athletic features. The open arms of the calligraphic word symbolizes the invitation of China to the world to share in its culture. IOC president Jacques Rogge was very happy with the emblem, saying, "Your new emblem immediately conveys the awesome beauty and power of China which are embodied in your heritage and your people."^[19]

The slogan for the 2008 Olympics is "One World, One Dream" (simplified Chinese: 同一个世界同一个梦想; traditional Chinese: 同一個世界同一個夢想; pinyin: Tóng Yíge Shìjiè Tóng Yíge Mèngxiǎng.)^[20] The slogan calls upon the whole world to join in the Olympic spirit and build a better future for humanity. It was chosen from over 210,000 entries submitted from around the world.^[8]

The 2008 Olympic Mascots are the five Fuwa (simplified Chinese: 福娃, literally "good luck dolls"). The Fuwa consist of five members that incorporate fish, giant panda, fire, Tibetan antelope, and swallow designs. They roughly correspond with the five elements of Chinese philosophy: water, metal, fire, wood, and earth. The Fuwa each have as their primary color one of the colors of the five Olympic Rings that stand for the five continents. The five Fuwa are named Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. When the first syllable of each of the five names are said together, the result is the phrase 北京欢迎你 (Běijīng huānyíng nĭ) which means "Beijing welcomes you".^[21]

In April 2007, the over seven million^[22] tickets for sporting events and ceremonies went on sale. Approximately 75% of tickets went on sale through the Beijing Organizing Committee, which set low ticket prices for domestic tickets, to encourage the Chinese people to attend the Games. International tickets are available through each nation's NOC.^[23] By June 2007, 2.2 million tickets had already been sold.^[24]

Since early 2007, licensed Olympics merchandise stores have been in business throughout China. More than 800 official stores were in operation at the end of July 2007. Since August 2007, Olympic merchandise has been made available online, with more than 5000 products available via the official merchandising website, which include apparel, mascot dolls, key-chains and commemorative chopsticks.^[25] In November 2007, the overseas Olympic E-shop provided online access to customers all over the world to Licensed Products of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, excluding the USA, Japan, UK, Canada and China.^[26] China's central bank also issued a new 10-yuan note without the picture of Mao Zedong.^[27]

The official theme for the torch relay was "Light the Passion, Share the Dream",^[28] with the English version performed by the 106 contestants of Miss World 2007.^[29] The official song for the game's one-year countdown celebration was "We Are Ready"^[30] with a version recorded by Jackie Chan^[31]. "Beijing Huan Ying Ni" ("Beijing welcomes you") was the theme song for the 100-day countdown celebration.^[28] "I am a Star" and "Smile Beijing" have been selected as theme songs for the Beijing Olympic Volunteers Committee.^[32]

The opening ceremony of the Olympics in Beijing will be held in the Beijing National Stadium, and begin at 8:08:08pm CST (12:08:08 UTC) on 8 August 2008.^[a] It has been announced that Canada's Celine Dion^[33] and Taiwan's Jay Chou^[34] would perform during the opening ceremony.

On July 21, NBC announced the Opening Ceremony would include performances by a cast of 15,000 and declared it would be the most spectacular Olympics Opening Ceremony ever produced.^[35]

The program for the Beijing 2008 Games is quite similar to that of the Athens Games held in 2004. The 2008 Olympics will see the return of 28 sports, and will hold 302 events (165 men’s events, 127 women’s events, and 10 mixed events), one event more in total than in Athens.

Overall nine new events will be held, which include two from the new cycling discipline of BMX. Women will compete in the 3000 m steeplechase for the first time. In addition, marathon swimming events for men and women, over the distance of 10 kilometers, will be added to the swimming discipline. Team events (men and women) in table tennis will replace the doubles events. In fencing, women's team foil and women's team sabre will replace men's team foil and women's team epee.^[b]^[36]^[37]

The Beijing Organizing Committee have released pictograms of the 35 Olympic disciplines. This set of sport icons is named the beauty of seal characters, due to each pictogram's likeness to Chinese seal script.^[38]

While Edison Chen was hiding from his naughty picture scandal in the United States, he was very busy. First Edison went to Boston, where his girlfriend Vincy Yeung is attending a University. Some members of Vincy’s Triad family want Edison dead, but other members are trying to protect Edison, which is another reason he was in Boston. To try to insure his protection from Triad revenge, Edison proposed to Vincy more than four times. Edison also hoped that marriage itself would show that he has changed into a family man, and is no longer a sex maniac womanizer. After discussing the issue of marriage with her family, Vincy turned down Edison’s marriage proposal. Some reports said Edison threatened to slit his wrists if Vincy did not marry him, but those reports have turned out to be false.

Vincy’s family suggested to Edison that he seek treatment for his addiction to sex, so he checked into a rehab center in Utah. After only a few days, several of the other male clients surrounded Edison in a parking lot during a break, and threatened, kicked, and punched him. Edison left immediately after the attack, and traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia to stay with his mother.

Edison then flew to California to meet with movie executives in Hollywood to see about getting work in upcoming movies. During this time Edison started negotiating with police in Hong Kong to avoid prosecution, and for protection, before returning to Hong Kong.

Edison then flew back to Boston to see Vincy one last time before returning to Hong Kong. Vincy was one of the girls who had a large set of pictures in the scandal, but only three of those pictures of Vincy in the shower became public. Edison Chen finally returned to Hong Kong and held a press conference at 3 pm in Kowloon World Trade Centre. Edison apologized in English to the girls involved in the naughty pic scandal surrounding him, and to all of Hong Kong, where the public is outraged. Edison said he will be away from the Hong Kong entertainment industry for an "indefinite period," he said "there is no time frame." This means Edison plans to work in Hollywood in the USA, and will return to Hong Kong entertainment once people move on from this scandal. He said he will do volunteer work while he clears his mind, which means he will be trying to rehabilitate his image with the public. The full statement Edison read is below:

'Nicholas Tse & Cecilia Cheung To Divorce'

Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) and Cecilia Cheung (張拍芝) have separated as a result of the sex photos scandal that has rocked Hong Kong showbiz, Ming Pao, a Hong Kong newspaper, reported today, citing rumours.

Patrick Tse (謝賢), father of Nicholas, refused to comment.

Reporters for the newspaper telephoned Deborah Li (狄波拉), Nicholas' mother, but could only get through to voicemail.

The newspaper quoted sources from the legal profession who said that, even though the couple married in the Philippines, the union and any divorce can be dealt with by Hong Kong jurisdiction because at least one of the couple is a Hong Kong citizen. The legal sources told the newspaper that after one year of separation the couple can file for divorce without citing any particular reason.

Rumour has it that Edison proposed marriage to Vincy and was rejected. So are Vincy and Edison still an item? Would Vincy want to be with a man like this? She is still so young. Like, what, 19 years old? There is still a bright future for her so I don’t see why she should hold on to a man with such a colourful sexual background even if she did love him at first.

Can anyone continue to love a man who sneaked into her bathroom while she was showering and took photos of her by surprise, stark naked? Three photos were also released onto the internet by this personality called “Kira”.

Springing into a partner while she is showering is just as bad as guys who privately shot videos and photos of their wives showering, sleeping or changing and post them online without the ladies’ knowledge. Don’t you think so?

Edison Chen delaying his return

Various reports indicate Edison Chen may not be returning to Hong Kong on Sunday. Peter Lam, head of Edison’s record label, said Edison won’t be back until sometime next week and that reports of him holding a press conference tomorrow was only media speculation.

Many want to believe rumors that Edison won’t be back because the Triads will kill him. Albert Yeung, head of EEG and uncle to Edison’s current girlfriend who’s pictures were also leaked, allegedly has ties to the gang. Others believe it’s because Edison hopes the scandal will die down or because Kira may release more pictures and video once he returns.

Cecilia Cheung, who also had pictures leaked, is not splitting from her husband and has even quietly returned to work filming a makeup commercial.

Meanwhile, the public has called Gillian’s public statement about the pictures childish and want to make her transition back to the entertainment industry as rough as possible.

All this leads me to believe Hong Kong is backwards. Triads putting a hit out on a guy because of sex pictures? I could understand if some guy forced them to watch 2Girls1Cup, but an uproar over blowjobs? What a day..-

*Piew*.... what a day..

I woke up around at 9.30am for work after back from Krabi, Thailand yesterday. I was kinda tired because of the whole traveling thingy. Then i heard my phone's message tone.

*BEEP * BEEP*

Deng!! I thought who was that oh .so early message me for what oh.

Then i reached to m phone and read the message. it says "BRO, RESULT OUT LIAO". I was like "WHAT!!!! !@#$%^&*@#$%^&*(early in the morning cursing like hell liao-paiseh). Then i called my Bro (Ian Vun Chic Ken) and confirm with him. He told the result for my exam is out today...i said, 'u pulling my legs is it'. I reconfirm with him and really one wor...DENG!!!...

Then i woke up quickly and dressed up and went to office. I tried to calm myself down man..stress like hell.my heart literally going to explode d man..then after awhile, tried to call the exam board to find it out..(die also die la). then my another bro ( Darren Lai XuenWei) called me and told me that "bro, you passsed d , I dont want you to life in misery man.u passed" i was damn happy. then i called then board to reconfirm.

I really PASSED..*piew* that was damn scary man. though the whole ding dong was only 10 min but i felt like it was damn damn damn freaking long man.sweating like hell(gan jiong mah)

Then i told my family. My mum then said 'let's celebrate'

Then we went to this Jap restaurant in Starhill.

My sister made bookings for it. Heard about the Jap Restaurant that the food is so fresh and there are loads of varieties.

Oh Ya...the Jap Rest is "JOGOYA"

the main entrance design is quite artistic

this is quite impressive man. the design is quite subtle at first glance. but if you pay more attention to it, you will appreciate the details and efforts put into it.

Some background about JOGOYA.

JOGOYA Restaurant is the top on list in buffer style eatery in Taiwan. They serve over 200 (plus minus) awesome dishes including authentic Japanese, Chinese, Western, Indian and Taiwanese cuisine using the only FINEST AND FRESHEST INGREDIENTS you can find. They have quite a few branches in Taiwan but only one in Malaysia which is at StarHill, KL.

Its located in level RELISH (i dunno which floor is it but you can look at the directory in the lifts) of StarHill KL.

The price is quite pricey but for the quality food they are serving, i think is alright.

They have four slots for you to enjoy their buffet.

Buffet Lunch :

11:30 - 13:40 (weekdays)
11:00 - 14:00 (weekends & Public Holidays)
RM78 ++

Buffet Late Lunch:

13:40 - 16:20 (weekdays)
14:00 - 16:20 (weekends & Public Holidays)
RM68++ Buffet Dinner :
17:00 - 21:30(weekdays)
17:00 - 21:30 (weekends & Public Holidays)
RM 88++

Buffet Supper:

21:30 - 01:00 (weekdays)
21:40 - 01:00 (weekends & Public Holidays)

For Children:

the count by heights : 80 - 100cm- RM10++
101-120cm - RM 50 % off on adult price
& all those that are above 120 cm.will be treated as adult.

(so, if necessary pls bring measurement tape to prove to the staffs that your kid is below 100cm.hehehhe)

Anyhow, its better to go for buffet dinner slot though more expensive but you are allowed to stay longer. they wont kick you away once its time.you can stay for supper as well, that is, is you can eat somemore. BUT beware, if you go during weekends or Public Holidays, they restrict you to only 2 hours. After that, God knows what they will do..hahaha..

Flip pHones- the true "SYOK-NESS"

I cant agree more that flip phone's cool..When your phone's buzzing, you simply draws out your phone and flip it open(with your shades on, of course) hahaha.then you turn your head slowly to the left or right(up to you) hope to get attention.(like BOLLYWOOD..hahha..but pls dont dance around coconut trees...hahah)

BUT this kid obviously has a better use of it..,...hahah

I guess that he would be more "SYOK" if the phone start to VIBRATE..hahhaha..

Finally, i am back and refreshed after a long and syok holiday in Krabi, Thailand. Went there for 4 days 3 nights. It was AWESOME. I am editing my photos and other stuff now.. will be posting it very soon..

i was so tired man...went to work around 9am but i was half asleep.cant really think and talk straight also...

went for badminton game in my friend's condominium in kuchai lama. We finished around 10.30pm then proceed to our favourite time.....SUPPER!!...

we went to this place which is kinda hidden...(its behind a not so popular furniture shop along jalan klang lama) for the famous TEOW CHEW PORRIDGE . After having our yummy supper, went hoe straight away..hahha..coz quite sleepy as it was around 12.20am.

went back n shower n online until quite late man.then only realised that i have to wake up at 6am to collect passport with my gf in subang airport..

woke up quite early n managed to pick it up in less than 5 min..hehehe.that was awesome man...but before this, we (my gf n i) went through painstaking process of queuing ,waiting and yawning.*haish*

before bla bla bla further, let me share with u what are the pre-requisite which u must know and have before renewing your passport.

Basically, there are several places you can renew your passport namely, Subang Airport - Terminal 2 (preferred choice coz its fast n less congested), Damansara (near help) and Shah Alam.

The opening hours are 7-30am until 5pm
break is from 12.45pm till 2,15pm

SO be sure to be there early if you want to get your passport done on that day itself.
If not u can always wait until noon.
OR if you cant wait, you can collect your passport any day within 3 months from the date of payment.
Normally, you can kau tim your passport in 2 hrs.

What you need to have:

1. your passport, of course
2. Original and a Photocopy of Identification Card
3.Form - you can buy it for RM 1 from COUNTER 11.
4. Pen (optional)
5. MONEY
6. 2 passport pic- you can get it done there but u have to queue for it and wait , about RM8.

After getting all that done, proceed to COUNTER 1 to get your number. Show them all your stuff. The officer in-charge will put everything in order and give u a number and ask u to "TUNGGU HINGGA NOMBOR YOU DIPANGGIL.."hehehhe..

then you should go to the canteen next door and buy newspaper (this one is optional)

*DING DONG*

Finally, when its your turn, go to the counter and they will do everything for u.Scan your thumb and ask for your signature if you havent already sign the form.

Then, wait for the payment counter to call your number.

After paying, the officer will give u a receipt.You need to wait 2 hrs after you made the payment before getting your new passport.

If you went there late, better pay, cabut and collect tomorrow.

Anyhow, after that painstaking 2 hrs of sieness, proceed to counter 12 or 13 to collect.Give the officer your receipt and get a number and wait until you are called.

Once you are called, they will need your IC and your thumb print.BAGI them..then you are all set...

YOUR NEW PASSPORT IS READY...!!!!!!!!....

p/s:after that you can either go to work or go back to sleep..i chose the latter one..hahahhaa...

This is how this blog or rather how i was brought into this big blue ball..

i was a tiny lifeless cell in a dark and confined area.Then one fine day (really good day for my parents coz they were enjoying the process rather than the end result.heheh.i was the by-product.hahah*evil*), while i was sleeping, i was blast through a tunnel and landed in a pool..hehhe..(so called pool). i then began my journey to the east and i managed to take a picture..hehehe...

i then saw this big round ball and i was very curious and stucked my head into the ball and cant get my head out.i have to call 911 for help..!!!they said the best option is to CUT off my limbs...apa boleh buat!!

luckily i did not feel anything.then i started splitting....and splitting and splitting..1 to 2, 2 to 4, 4 to 8 and so on.......

my mum then started getting dizzy and nausea..then my father always gives her seng boii!!wah lau..so asam man...

my mum didnt believe that she was pregnant at first coz u know la...they only want to enjoy the process not the end result.

then mum went to pharmacy and bought this to test..
